                                               Welcome to OCRCC flight instruction program

   

               You will find a very comprehensive training program in place for the beginning radio control flyer. The OCRC club wants you to succeed in your quest to fly!  The club offers various programs to help further that goal!

 

Building clinic by appointment -  call Larry Klingberg  714-593-5567

 

Ground school by appointment - first Monday 6:00pm, prior to the general meeting.

 Flight training  -Individual instruction at various flying fields leading to your reception of the  solo flight certificate after demonstrating the mastering of basic flight requirements.  Your instructor will present this certificate to you at the flying field.

 

OCRCC wings  -Awarded to you at the monthly club meeting by the chief flight instructor.

                           The pilot will have completed the required flight program to the satisfaction of the   

                           flight instructor.

                             Requirements for receiving pilots solo certificate

 

Member in good standing of Orange Coast Radio Control Club.

Completed OCRCC  ground school.  (Can be waived)

Check for clear runway and any landing aircraft while holding short of the active runway.

Indicate your intentions loudly   “taking off”.

Execute a safe, smooth, steady takeoff and straight flight out.

Complete a procedure turn and stay in each leg of the traffic pattern.

Continue on the downwind pattern leg and reduce speed for landing.

Indicate intentions loudly  “landing” when aircraft is opposite the pilot.

Execute a full stop landing.  (Taxi back to the pits is optional).

Note: You may be asked to repeat the solo flight three times per full-scale solo flight!

Secure the aircraft back at the pits.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                             Requirements for receiving pilots wings

 

Member in good standing of Orange Coast Radio Control Club.

Completed OCRCC ground school.      (Can be waived)

Perform a complete preflight check.

Make sure you place your OCMA badge over frequency number before you turn on your receiver.

Safely start the engine and adjust for reliable idle.

Complete a proper run-up and control checkout.

Walk the aircraft out to the taxi area.

Wait for a clear runway, Then taxi out to the takeoff area and hold

Check again for s clear runway and any landing aircraft.

Indicate your intentions loudly   “Taking Off”.

Execute a safe, smooth, steady takeoff and straight flight out.

Complete a procedure turn out of the traffic pattern.

Complete two alternate left and right turns while maintaining altitude.

Complete a horizontal figure eight maintaining altitude.

Complete a touch and go, indicate your intentions loudly.

Re-enter the traffic pattern downwind for a full stop landing.

Continue on the downwind leg and reduce speed for landing.

Indicate intentions loudly   “Landing” when aircraft is opposite the pilot.

Execute a full stop landing.

Taxi the aircraft back to the pits, shutdown engine before entering the pits.
