ORANGE COAST RADIO CONTROL CLUB
Dear New Member:
Welcome to the Orange Coast Radio Control Club. We are happy that you have decided to become a member of our organization. We have prepared this informational packet for you in an effort to help you become better acquainted with flying in general and our club and flying site in particular.
If you are an experienced flyer, some of the information will be a review for you. The article about the AMA, the pre-flight checks and preparing for the flying session are helpful to all flyers.
Since most of the pilots in our club will fly at the Black Starr flying site in Silverado California, we have included a link to the OCMA Web Site which includes photos and a map of the area that designates the flying area.
If you need help building you aircraft, We have qualified people to assist you in constructing your aircraft. If you need help learning to fly, qualified instructors can be contacted for a personal flight programs tailored for the beginner or intermediate flyer.
One exciting feature of our club is the “Earning of your wings”. We would urge everyone to attend our ground school and find out this important benefit, we have enclosed a list of qualifications and procedures that will need to be mastered. Our ground school, qualified instructors, and a dedication to achieve this goal are very special to our club. A pamphlet of other information completes the new member packet. See the membership chairman at the monthly club meeting to acquire you OCRCC club name badge.
Again, welcome. DO come to our monthly club meetings. DO make flying friends. Do volunteer to work on club activities. DO become a part of our fine club.
To join OCRCC, Print out the application from the “Link” below and either bring it to the next club meeting on the first Monday of the month or mail it including a check made out to OCRCC to the Membership Chairperson mentioned in the application. You must be a current AMA member to join OCRCC. Joining OCRCC will allow you to fly Electric Aircraft at Katella High School on Sunday mornings.
To fly Glow or Gas powered Aircraft at Black Starr Field, you must also join OCMA (See Favorite Links Page).
